A simple name badge might not seem like much at first, but to those who wear them daily, nurses, teachers, frontline workers, and local heroes, it’s more than just a tag. It’s a symbol of identity, pride, and connection.
From Scrubs to Name Badges: Chantelle’s Story
Chantelle, a nurse with a heart for both healing and humour, started her journey by bringing joy into her workplace. What began as a fun way to personalise her Friday scrubs turned into something much bigger, a way to foster connection, identity, and pride in the vital roles people play within our community.
She wore her name badge loud and proud, taking ownership of the work she poured her heart into every single day. It became a small but powerful reminder of why she showed up; because she cared. She cared about her patients, her team, and the importance of human connection in the most challenging of times.
As her colleagues took notice, what started as a personal touch quickly expanded beyond nursing. Teachers, midwives, paramedics, and small business owners all saw the value in wearing their names with pride. It wasn’t just about identification; it was about belonging.
Beyond the Gift: A Growing Impact
At The Humble Gift Co., we wanted to take this sense of connection even further. We wanted to give back to the community meaningfully, to honour the people who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
From April 2023 to January 2025, our small initiative became something far greater than we ever imagined. Last week, we were humbled to receive a milestone recognition for donating $15,268 to Wishlist - Sunshine Coast Health Foundation, a foundation that supports families in need. Our contribution is growing every day, all thanks to you.
Through personal experience, we’ve seen firsthand how the simple act of recognition, knowing someone’s name; making them feel seen, valued, and heard can ease communication, strengthen relationships, and create a more personal, compassionate environment.
More Than a Name, More Than a Badge
We are deeply honoured that our contributions go beyond the physical gifts we create. They extend into our local community, making a real difference in people’s lives, from supporting families in crisis to being part of small moments of joy, like the therapy dogs visiting hospital wards and lifting spirits in the hardest of times.
We have had the opportunity to witness these moments firsthand, which reminds us of the power of human connection.
